Belgium has the history of begonias cultivation, every year from 1971, the Grand Place, the central square of Brussels, is decorated with a carpet of fresh begonias. On August 12, the opening ceremony of Flower Carpet Festival 2016 used 60,000 begonias on almost 20,000 square feet.
